In Montesquieu's career he really had no failures. Failure was never an option for him and he always wanted to please his father. After his Father died in 1713, he took his work even more serious. He wasn't going to fail especially since he was very religious so, he thought his dad was looking over him (as an angel) and he always wanted to show his dad how hard he worked and how much he loved him.
